Welcome to the Hartselle Intermediate School Library

  • Our library is a safe and nurturing environment that develops life-long readers and learners who know how to use information effectively, solve problems, and work together to share ideas.

  • 7:30am - 3:00pm - Open Flexible Scheduling – (Teachers can reserve the library for classes, activities, and enrichment on available days.)  

    • 7:30 – 7:55 Before school, come to the library to build, create, or check out books. We have legos, technology, and board games for you to enjoy with friends.
      • Library helpers- Your child can sign up to be a library helper through our leadership teams at the beginning fo the year.  5th and 6th grade studetns learn about the inner workings of a library.   This team strives to keep the library a wonderful place to visit, read, check out books, and to explore and learn in.
      • We are also beginning a new team who is working on developing a Tiger Paws News Google Site for publication for our students.  It’s in the early stages of development, and is exciting to get started with our talented writers who are full of great ideas.
    • 7:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students and teachers can visit the library to check out resources, library books, e-books, audiobooks, and teachers can also sign up to utilize the library space for classes or activities that require more room than their designated classroom space.  Email the librarian for available days and times.  sarah.bragwell@hartselletigers.org 
    • AFTER SCHOOL:  Our library is available for use for after school meetings, school club events, and parent meetings concerning HIS school events and field trips if theyscheduled through a school employee who will be present or participating.

     

  • Students may check out up to three books at a time. They can keep books for up to two weeks and are welcome to return them early or renew them if they are not quite finished. We do not charge late fines, but if a book is lost or destroyed beyond reasonable repair, the student/ parent will be charged on My School Bucks for the cost of replacing the book.
